coffee in Bangalore! : omigawd. sick as a dog (some respiratory flu-cold-purification thing), arrived in Bangalore after a grueling trip from the USA via Singapore, to shepherd a whole group of students & friends around Bangalore, buying appropriate Indian clothing and stuff for an extended stay at the Penukonda ashram. I particularly like the 'so what, who cares?' slightly smart-assed expression. had it not been for the double lattes at Barista Coffee -- I couldn't have walked around let alone spend 6 hours a day shopping with my buds. thank you, god, for COFFEE!

Kaleshwar making arathi : here, Sri Kaleshwar is making an arathi (flame ceremony) to the living statue of Shirdi Sai Baba in Penukonda. what's fascinating is the miniature form of Baba's upper torso in the arathi flame.

Kaleshwar thumbs : my master in India, Sri Kaleshwar, giving a huge blessing to the photographer (and anyone seeing this photo.) a young miracle healing saint, Kaleshwar is considered a spiritual giant in India -- many of the South Indian saints, twice or even three times his age, come to kneel at his feet and beg him to share his spiritual wealth with them. his only mission in the world: to create spiritual masters who can heal the world and alleviate its suffering. when asked what his gift to the world is, he always replies, humbly, "my students."

a shiva-shakti lingam in amrutha : this lingam, pure emerald, was manifested from a pile of river sand in -- I think -- 2002 -- in India. upon its creation, this solid stone began emitting a honey-like substance from 'the other side' known as amrutha, literally 'the nectar of immortality.' just one of the many amazing things I witnessed while living at Kaleshwar's ashram, The Divine Mystery Fort.
